Social Enterprise
Social Enterprise in Ireland is defined as “an enterprise that trades for a social/societal purpose, where at least part of its income is earned from its trading activity, is separate from government, and where the surplus is primarily reinvested in the social objective.”
As a social enterprise Recycle IT operates under the Community Services Programme (CSP). The programme supports community companies and co-operatives to deliver local social, economic, and environmental services that tackle disadvantage.
The Community Services Programme is managed for the Department of Rural and Community Development by Pobal, a not-for-profit company tasked with managing programmes on behalf of the Irish Government and the EU. Recycle IT are one of over 400 social enterprises operating with funding support from the programme in Ireland.
Recycle IT is also part funded through the Dormant Accounts Fund. The Dormant Accounts Action Plan allocates funding across Government departments and for a range of measures which aim to address disadvantage or support persons with a disability.
Recycle IT manages sustainability by working in partnership with our stakeholders, sourcing funding through competitive applications and offering a cost effective and reliable waste management services.
Our not-for-profit organisation works to deliver environmentally friendly recycling solutions and real training and employment opportunities. Our stakeholders include our employees, the communities, and customers we serve, partners and funders.
